Early Access Channel for Admins

Stay ahead of new Assistant capabilities and roll them out at a pace that suits your firm.

Early Access gives your users a first look at Legal AI Assistant features that are not yet generally available. You turn each feature on or off in your repository, so users see only the ones you've approved.

Turning on the channel does not turn on any features. You enable each one on its own, and users can switch between early access and the standard experience at any time.

Turn on the channel

1

Open AI Settings & Usage

In the “Admin Console,” select “AI Settings & Usage,” then turn on the “Early Access Channel” toggle in the “Early Access Channel” section.
2

Choose who gets early access

Under “User access” > “Who gets early access,” choose “All users” (the default) or “Specific groups.”
3

Enable each feature

Under “In Early Access” > “Features,” turn on each feature you want users to see, after reading its data handling notice.

Good to know

Availability

The Early Access Channel is currently available in the US (Vault) and EU (UK) regions.

Features are exploratory

Features can change at any time, and being in the channel does not guarantee a permanent place in the Assistant.

What users see

Users with access see a banner with a link to their settings, and they choose whether to switch early access on for themselves.

Chats and modes

Chats are tied to the mode where they were created, so a user's previous chats are in standard mode and show a lock icon until they switch back.

Feedback and privacy

Users can send feedback from inside the Assistant, and NetDocuments never sees the content of their queries or conversations.

Let your users know before rollout that their earlier chats stay in standard mode.

Features available

  • Skills: Specialized capabilities the Legal AI Assistant applies to legal work, so a request for a Word document, a PowerPoint deck, or an Excel workbook comes back as a finished file instead of text to copy and paste. Users choose which skills to turn on in their own settings.
  • Web search: Lets the Assistant search the public internet when your documents cannot answer a question. This feature must be enabled in the admin settings.
